SUFFOLK COUNTY CHRISTMAS FAIR FAQs

Everything you need to know before your visit

Do I need a ticket?

Yes. The Suffolk County Christmas Fair is a ticketed event and all tickets must be booked online in advance. Booking early guarantees admission and secures the discounted advance price. The advance discount ends at 11:59pm on 19 November 2026. Ticket ages are: Adult 16+, Senior 66+, Child 3–15, Infant 0–2, and Family tickets cover two adults and two children.

Can I pay on the gate?

No. All admission tickets and travel options must be booked online in advance. Payment will not be available at the gate.

Why do I need an arrival timeslot, and can I change it?

Arrival timeslots help reduce queues and make the visit more enjoyable. Arrive at your selected travel method within the booked window, then stay at the fair as long as you wish. Subject to availability, you can change to a like-for-like timeslot on the same day through My Orders on the ticket website up to one hour before arrival.

What is a Twilight ticket?

Twilight tickets are reduced-price tickets for visitors arriving during the final three hours of each day. They offer a budget-friendly way to enjoy the fair and see Hintlesham Hall and the grounds illuminated with festive lighting.

Is there a booking fee?

Yes. A small booking fee is added per order to cover payment and ticket-processing costs. The current fee will be shown clearly before checkout.

Can I go inside Hintlesham Hall?

Yes. Hintlesham Hall plans to serve refreshments and light lunches in its lounge rooms for fair visitors on a walk-in basis. Please use the main entrance to be seated. No shopping stalls are located inside the Hall.

Is parking available, and should I use the shuttle?

On-site parking is limited and must be booked with your entrance tickets. To reduce traffic through Hintlesham village, visitors are encouraged to use the free shuttle from Ipswich Park & Ride, London Road, Ipswich IP8 3TQ, or Hadleigh Bus Station, Magdalen Road, Hadleigh IP7 5EZ. Every passenger needs the correct shuttle ticket as well as an entrance ticket.

How often do the shuttle buses run?

The Ipswich Park & Ride shuttle is planned to run approximately every 10 minutes and the Hadleigh shuttle approximately every 30 minutes. Journeys usually take around 10 minutes, depending on traffic. Current first and final bus times will be shown with the 2026 ticket options.

Is disabled parking available and is the event wheelchair friendly?

A limited number of free Blue Badge parking spaces can be booked with event tickets. Display your Blue Badge on arrival. The shuttle buses are wheelchair accessible and stop at the event entrance. The fair is on one level with tracked grass routes where possible and hard-floored marquees with an access ramp, although gravel and uneven ground may be difficult for some visitors.

Do carers receive free entry?

Yes. A carer can receive free entry when accompanying the person they care for. Book a carer ticket and provide the requested eligibility evidence during booking.

Are dogs permitted?

Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must remain on a short lead. Please consider whether your dog will be comfortable in busy marquees. Dogs are not permitted in the Hintlesham Hall lounge areas.

Will food, drink and Father Christmas be available?

Yes. A wide selection of festive food and drink will be available, and the Hintlesham Hall lounge plans to serve refreshments and light lunches. Father Christmas will make appearances throughout all three days, meeting visitors and posing for photographs. There is no Santa’s Grotto or appointment system.

I’m staying at Hintlesham Hall. Do I need a fair ticket?

Hotel guests staying on Friday, Saturday or Sunday night receive complimentary fair entry and do not need to book an admission ticket. If you still have a question, please contact tickets@county-events.co.uk.
